Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: variable days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Primary location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with 4 years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• CST or NBSTSA or NCCT
• Graduation from a certified surgical technologist program, or a high school diploma
• Experience working with Orthopedics patients
• Experience working with Neuro patients
• Experience working with Spine patients
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience with orthospine surgery
• Experience with total joint surgery procedures
• Experience with cranial (crani) cases

Float / Call / Scheduling

• May be required to float to Aspirus Merrill, Antigo, Medford, or Stanley
• Call requirement: 6-8 weeknight call shifts and 1-2 weekend call shifts during the 13-week contract
• 30-minute response time for call
• Weekend coverage is for call only
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• May be placed on call during low census hours

Unit / Case Mix

• 21 ORs
• Average 40-60 cases per day
• Must be efficient in setting up operative suites, checking case carts, scrubbing surgical cases across specialties, and turning over rooms
• General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and GI are not required but are a bonus
