Respiratory Therapist
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend, occasionally every third weekend
- Holiday rotation: travelers may be scheduled for holidays if necessary
- Guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed and during orientation week
- Call-off policy: the client can terminate the contract with 2 weeks' notice if census dictates
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapy in NICU with 3 years of experience, including NICU experience within the last year
- AHA BLS
- AHA PALS
- NRP
- Associate's degree (AD) or certificate
- Respiratory Therapist experience
- Experience working with PICU patients
- Experience working with NICU Level 4 patients
- Ventilator experience: Servo I and Servo U ventilators, LTV ventilators, Astral and Trilogy ventilators, oscillators, NAVA ventilation, INO, RAM cannula
- Preferred: Familiarity with the Epic Clin Doc charting system
Unit and Float Scope
- Primary assignment: PICU and NICU
- Units: 24-bed pediatric cardiac ICU, 24-bed pediatric medical ICU, 24-bed pediatric surgical ICU, 70-bed Level IV NICU
- Staffing: 2-3 RCPs in each PICU, 3-4 RCPs in NICU depending on census
- May float to: general med/surg acute care units and EDTC
Dress Code and Policies
- Scrubs: Any professional scrubs
- Jewelry and piercings: A single small nose stud is permitted. Other visible body piercings are not acceptable (ear piercings are allowed). Flesh-colored or clear piercing plugs are permitted.
