Central Service Technician

Location: Everett, Massachusetts Department: Central Processing Employment Type: Not specified Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 40 Shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm (8-hour evening shift), rotating weekends and holidays as needed

Role Overview

The Central Service Technician is responsible for the decontamination, preparation, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical devices, and equipment required for patient care. The ideal candidate is meticulous, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about infection control protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize, and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique
• Inspect instruments to ensure all required items are available for surgery
• Test and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure it is working properly
• Maintain accurate sterilization and quality assurance records
• Report any equipment or supply issues to the supervisor
• Manage inventory and ensure supplies are ordered as necessary
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Centralized Sterile Technician experience of at least 1 year, completed within the last year
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Driver's license with an address that matches demographics
