Registered Nurse, Neuro ICU (Travel/Contract)

Overview

• Location: Columbia, Missouri
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Extensions: Local candidates are not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract.

• Unit: Neuro ICU. Float to ICU and Med Surg.

Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3 x 12 hours (19:00 to 07:30)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays and weekends: Work 50% of holidays and weekends. Work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.
• Other: Rotating shifts, call, and work during inclement weather are required. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Neuro ICU experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• Stroke experience

Preferred

• Certifications: NIH Stroke Certification (not required for Neuro ICU)
• Behavioral training: CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred
• Experience: ICU experience with a strong neuro checklist

Physical Demands

• Ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Essential functions include working the full contract at the assigned location, working the substantial time of the assigned shift, taking call, working assigned weekends, and working at least 50% of holidays during the contract.
