Job Overview

  • Location: Omaha, Nebraska
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Nebraska
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ECMO ICU (2 years of experience)
  • ECMO ICU experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Cardio Help experience
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
  • Pediatrics CVICU experience

Unit Details

  • Float assignment includes NICU, PICU, and CVPICU
  • Care may include ECMO patients on VA ECMO or VV ECMO
  • If no ECMO patients are present, the nurse works as a bedside ICU nurse caring for cardiac, non-cardiac, or NICU patients as needed
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • Patient ratio: 1:2

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccine series
  • Varicella immunity
  • Drug screen within 12 months before start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption, if applicable
  • 2 professional references within 2 years of start
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Nebraska adult and child services registry search results
  • Background check covering the past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
