Location: Oakland, California Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks Specialty: Registered Nurse Unit: ICU

Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 07:30)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend, and whenever the unit needs coverage
• On call: As needed

Assignment and Floating

• May float to other units within scope of practice.
• Depending on need and census, may float to another campus.
• Travelers are expected to be flexible about floating to different campuses or within the hospital.
• Travelers can usually expect about 1.5 hours' notice before shift start when floating.
• A shuttle is provided if floating is requested.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience of 3 years
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• 6 months or more of total travel experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS

Onboarding Requirements

• Background: 7-year background check, federal exclusion list checks (OIG, SAM, and related databases), and a sex offender search
• Health: Physical exam, negative TB screening (questionnaire plus test or chest X-ray), measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination, Tdap, and a 9-panel drug screen
• Flu vaccination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 to Apr 30), or a signed declination
• Fit test: Required within 1 year of start, plus an in-person color vision exam
• Competency: Competency exam (minimum 80% unless the required score is higher). A dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some Telemetry units.
• History: 2 professional references and 7 years of work history without gaps
• Documents: Facility orientation, confidentiality, and conduct documents to review and sign before start
