Registered Nurse: Neuro ICU

Location: Dayton, Ohio Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 4x12 hours (7:00 to 19:30) Hours: 12 per day, 48 per week

Role Overview

Fast-paced ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes, at a comprehensive stroke center
Also treats overflow ICU patients from the Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Neuro ICU experience (2 years)
Neuro ICU experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
NIHSS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in a large hospital setting
Experience with Epic

Preferred

Immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: titer or 2 vaccines preferred; candidate attestation of immunity is also acceptable

Floating

Traveler is first to float, at the discretion of the system
Agency will float in and out of the specialty cluster, and will be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to
If assigned to the main hospital, the role includes floating to the main campus, the south campus (under 10 miles from main campus), and the north campus (under 15 miles from main campus)

Schedule and Contract Terms

Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
The system may cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract
The system may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice, without fee or fine

Other Information

RTO requests must be submitted with the initial submittal. No RTO will be added after the offer. Approval is at the manager's discretion. The submittal must include the application and a current Nursys report; other certifications are not needed if listed on the application.
EPIC is listed as required (software familiarity, not a credential).
Fingerprinting is not required for ICU roles.
