Overview

Travel RN role in a Tele/PCU Cardiac Unit
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

NIH Stroke Prepared
PALS
ICU experience
Tele experience
PCU experience

Unit Details

29 private rooms
18 current staff
Patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5
Equipment includes telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse ox

Common Procedures / Patient Care

Blood transfusions
IV starts
Midline/central line removals
Respiratory assessments
Cardiac assessments
High fall risk patient populations

Floating

Med surg
Tele
PCU
ED Holds

Shift / Coverage

Day shift includes CN, PCT, UC, and RNs, with sitters if needed
Night shift includes CN, PCT, and RNs
Weekends: all
