Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Inpatient Rehab Speech Therapy Unit
- 44 beds
- 2 speech therapists on day shift; no night shift
- Patient ratio approximately 1:8-10
- Equipment includes MBS Suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, Bioness BITs
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system in use
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat multiple diagnoses related to swallowing and speech language
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
- ASHA Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Speech Language Pathologist Assessment or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk certification
- Experience working with adult patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in neurogenic disorders
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation
Work Environment & Schedule
- Day shift only
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Rotating weekends, typically one shift per month
- May float to acute hospital units if needed
- Dress code: Black scrub bottoms and royal blue scrub top preferred (other colors accepted)
