MS/Tele

Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN assignment in Omaha, Nebraska.
• 13-week contract option.
• 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule option.
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:30.

Unit / Setting

• Innovation Design Unit (IDU), an inpatient care unit.
• 17 patient rooms divided into zones.
• Primary patient population is adult medical-surgical patients.
• The unit does not care for labor and delivery or pediatrics.
• Primary nursing care model with 1 RN assigned to a group of patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights.

Required Qualifications

• BLS required.
• 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required.
• Must have 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• First timers not accepted.
• Must be more than 100 miles from the facility.
• Pending license accepted, but if the license is not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS preferred.

Float Scope

• Travelers are first to float.
• Must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs.
• May float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially to Bellevue campus.
• Possible units include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU.

Schedule / Expectations

• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.
• Holiday requirement: work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Up to two weeks of RTO permitted; additional requests after confirmation are at manager discretion.

Additional Notes

• Drips are required on all floors.
• 100% nicotine free facility.
• Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo on the back.
• Parking is available for a fee.
