Location: Tacoma, Washington Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings, 12-hour shifts (1800-0630), 48 hours per week Specialty: ER

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and Washington RN license
• 2 full years of experience
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment (prior travel experience required)
• Not eligible if employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility in the same health system within the past year

Orientation

• Orientation and education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours
• Floor-specific orientation: 1 day

Unit Details

• Emergency department with 33 beds, including 2 trauma bays
• 5 psych/seclusion rooms
• 125-140 patients per day
• Ratio: 3-4:1
• Fast track: Yes
• Common diagnoses: Emergency cases, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS
• Scrubs: Navy blue (top and bottom)

Schedule and Staffing

• Weekends: Every other weekend (1p-130a)
• Holidays: Occasionally
• Charge nurse: 24/7
• Nurse aides/paramedics: ED technicians
• Security: 24/7
• Patient sitters: Security 24/7
• Tele/monitor techs: No
• Vents: Yes
• ED physicians/mid-levels: Both

Float Scope

• Primary assignment is the ER at the Tacoma facility
• May be required to float to other facilities in the region when needed
