Registered Nurse, CVICU (Dayton, Ohio)

Overview

• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Location: Dayton, Ohio
• Contract length: 13 weeks (a 13-week winter contract is also offered)
• Shift: Night, 4 x 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 48 hours per week
• Shift options: 36- or 48-hour shifts are available
• Unit: CVICU, typically 36-bed units with a targeted patient ratio of 1:2
• Assignment focus: Working with telemetry, drips, and vents
• Attire: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with post cardiac surgery patients (directly from the OR or not directly from the OR)
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath/intervention
• Experience with Impella
• Experience with Swan-Ganz catheters
• Experience with thermodilution
• Experience with arterial lines
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with sheaths
• Experience with Epic

Floating and Scheduling

• Traveler is first to float, at the facility's discretion
• May float in/out of specialty clusters and will be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to
• May float to a south campus less than 10 miles from the main campus and a north campus less than 15 miles from the main campus
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday; for the winter contract, must work a minimum of every other holiday
• Facility may cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract
• Facility may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice

Request Time Off (RTO)

• RTO must be requested with the initial submittal; no RTO can be added after the offer
• RTO approval is at the manager's discretion
• Submittal must include the application and current NURSYS report; other certifications are not needed if listed on the application
