Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: San Leandro, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30), 36 hours per week Weekends: Every other weekend Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes

Float Scope

May float to med/surg telemetry as needed: PCU (1:3 ratio) and Telemetry (1:4 ratio)
EEG is available in the unit

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience working with Neuro patients
Experience with Impella
Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
Experience with arterial lines
Experience with central line management
IV insulin protocols
GI Surgery
PICC lines
Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
Experience with Epic

Onboarding Requirements

Background: Background check within 90 days before start, including criminal searches, sanction checks (HHS/OIG, EPLS/GSA/SAM), and education verification. Results cannot be pending at start.
Licensing: License and NURSYS verification within 15 days before start
Identification: Photo ID (driver's license or passport) and badge photo
Health: Physical exam within 90 days; Tdap within 10 years (TD not accepted); TB test (IGRA or 2 PPDs) and TB questionnaire; MMR, varicella, and hepatitis B titers or proof of vaccination; flu vaccination or declination; color blind exam within 90 days; fit test with an acceptable mask within 90 days
Drug screen: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days; rapid tests not accepted
Work history: Current resume covering the last 7 years of employment; employment verification for the past 3 years; references
Orientation: New employee orientation modules and competencies due on the first day of the contract; assignment ends if not completed within 14 days of start
Competency exams: Medication and pharmacology competency exam, and competency exam, as applicable
