Contract and Schedule

• Contract length: 10 weeks (one contract only)
• Start date: Must start by 12/18/2026
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:30)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Time off: No holiday RTO; no more than 5 days RTO
• Local radius restrictions: Waived for this 10-week assignment

Assignment

• Floating: Travelers must work across all 3 PES units, which are spread between two campuses in the system.
• Unit: PES (Psychiatric Emergency Service)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Behavioral Health experience (2 years)
• Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Identity

• 7-year criminal background check within 12 months of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Driver's license or state ID with photo, matching legal name, on the first day
• Highest level of education verified. Diplomas are not accepted, and education must come from an accredited school.
• Foreign equivalency report and diploma required for internationally educated candidates
• Primary source license verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (rapid 10-panel accepted; panels cannot be combined)
• TB documentation: negative T-Spot or QuantiFERON within 6 months of start, or 2 negative PPDs at least 1 week apart within 12 months of start. TB questionnaire required and updated annually.
• Immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or documented history, depending on the test)
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/01 to 03/31), with a 12/01 deadline. Declinations are not allowed.
• Fit test within 12 months of start, updated annually. Candidates must be clean shaven for fit testing. 3M N95 1860 (small or regular) or 1870+ preferred; any mask accepted if size is included.
