Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for the entire orientation week is required

Unit Information

• Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit (7E Tele)
• Patient population: approximately 50% medical and 50% telemetry adult patients
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: approximately 4-6:1
• Equipment: standard nursing equipment for telemetry unit
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult patients
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
• Practice within the scope of nursing and according to Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License

• Commitment to positive patient outcomes

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Dress code: black scrubs
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13-week assignment can be automatically approved; additional time off requires leader approval and may need to be made up
