Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

• Location: Maryville, Tennessee
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00–07:30), 48 hours per week
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend, which may change based on need
• Float: Required to float to similar units if needed. The floating policy signature is not required at this location.
• Special procedures: Post heart cath; bedside procedures including dialysis catheter, thoracentesis, and I&D
• Medication system: Omnicell

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• At least 1 year of Med-Surg/Telemetry (MS/Tele) experience, completed within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Background checks: 7-year background check completed within 12 months of start. EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG searches within 30 days of start, repeated every 30 days. OFAC search required.
• Education: Highest level of education verified. Diplomas are not accepted as placeholders.
• Licensure: Nursys verification showing all licenses, run within 30 days of start
• Work history: Resume or application must cover seven years of work history.
• Drug screen: 5-panel test within 12 months, updated annually. A positive marijuana result is an automatic cancel. A dilute test allows one retest; a second dilute result is a cancel.
• Physical exam: Physician statement within 1 year of start attesting to ability to meet the physical demands of the position. Chiropractor statements are not accepted.
• TB: Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 90 days of start, plus an annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations: Rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines). Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination). Tdap is required only for those working or floating to bone marrow transplant, NICU, RRT, or CRT areas.
• Flu: Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption on file by the deadline (2026–27 season: 10/5 for pre-start candidates, 11/6 for working candidates)
• Driver's license or state ID: Required immediately upon signing, and must be carried on duty.
• Contractor acknowledgment: Signed within 24 hours of signing the contract
• E-Verify: E-Verify or attestation required

Competencies and Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam: Completed within 1 year of start and updated annually, with a full score breakdown. Passing score is 84%, with two attempts.
• Core training (Parts I–III): Updated annually, with a passing score of at least 80% and full score breakdown
• Online modules: About 12 hours, completed within 72 hours of assignment. The facility will not clear the nurse to start until these are complete.
• Pre-assignment testing: Must be completed before orientation. Tests are timed and must be taken on a wired computer with Chrome. Candidates have 48 hours to complete them once loaded.

Other Onsite Requirements

• Respirator fit test: Completed onsite during orientation
• Badge photo: Required, submitted the Tuesday before start, following the facility's photo guidelines
