Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with Level I trauma patients
• Experience in a large hospital setting
• Driver's license
• Orthopedics experience

Overview

• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Hours: 12 per day, 48 per week (may approve 36 hours)
• Hospital: Short-term acute care, Level I trauma center
• Staffing ratio: Team nursing, 1:12, split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a charge nurse, and a med nurse
• On-call: As needed
• Weekends: As needed, rotation
• Block schedule: Not open to accommodating a block schedule; a weekend block may be considered.

Eligibility Restrictions

• Does not accept first-time travelers.
• Does not accept local candidates. A 100-mile radius rule applies strictly.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical: Physical statement within 1 year of start, attesting to ability to meet job physical demands and good physical health
• TB: Negative 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year of start. An indeterminate or borderline result requires a retest. If positive, a clear chest X-ray within 2 years and an annual TB questionnaire are required.
• N95 fit test: 3M 1860 or 1870+ masks only, tested within 1 year of start, must state "pass," and must be completed before start. PAPR hoods are unavailable, so a 3M N95 fit test is required.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: Proof of 2 vaccines (preferred) or a positive antibody titer. Low or equivocal titers require 2 booster doses. Declinations are not accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Copy of 3-dose series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen completed within 60 days of start
• Influenza: 2026-27 vaccine or approved exemption by October 23. Travelers starting on or after September 21 must be compliant before starting. Vaccines are not available onsite.

Background and Verification

• Background check: Completed within 60 days of start, covering the past 7 years, including statewide, county, and federal searches and education verification. Pending searches are not accepted.
• Sex offender search: Must be run separately from the background check
• Federal exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG): Within 30 days of start, then annually
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry: Required
• Education verification: Required. Diploma or transcript is not accepted in its place.
• Identity: 2 forms of government-issued ID
• Work eligibility: E-Verify or attestation

Onboarding Documents

• Submission packet: Submission form, application, references, skills checklist, state license (Nursys for RNs), and certification information
• Confidentiality acknowledgment: Must be signed before start
• Onsite fit test: If completed onsite, due Thursday at 2 PM CST before start and brought on the first day
• Badge photo: Must be received no later than the Tuesday COB before a Monday start. Requirements include a plain background, neutral expression, taken within the last 6 months, and no glasses glare or hats covering the hairline.
• Scrubs: Navy blue for RNs. No prints or embroidery.
