Telemetry RN (Travel/Contract)

Location: Montclair, New Jersey Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 to 19:00
• 36 hours per week
• Weekends and float required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Local candidates are not eligible (50-mile radius rule)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications Required as Applicable

• ACLS (AHA, RQI, ARC, or American Safety and Health Institute)
• PALS (AHA, ARC, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute)
• NRP
• CHEMO
• TNCC
• MAB
• NIH Stroke Certification (expires annually)
• CPI

Background and Onboarding

• 7-year background check, completed within 1 year of start and updated annually, including SS trace, county criminal searches, nationwide sex offender search, and education verification
• Highest level of education must be verified
• E-Verify
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, required upon hire
• Work history verification covering 7 years; New Jersey requires 1 year prior to start to be verified, with gaps of 30 days or less
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated as required by the facility
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Core testing, completed annually (subcontractors may submit a signed HIPAA form instead)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start; positive results require a chest X-ray within 5 years and a TB questionnaire within 90 days of start
• Adult Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
• Immunity to rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella, shown by positive titer or vaccines; negative or equivocal titers require boosters
• Vaccine records must not state "per history" or "received elsewhere"
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (10/01 to 03/31); declinations not accepted
• Annual fit test within 1 year of start; fit testing is done onsite for some locations
