Location: Hopedale, Illinois (Central Illinois) Position Type: Contract (agency) assignment Facility Type: Critical access hospital, independent and community-based Department: Diagnostic Imaging / Ultrasound Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 20 Shift: Days, Monday through Friday Availability: Open to PRN, part-time, or full-time candidates

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a skilled, self-directed sonographer who can independently perform both vascular and general diagnostic ultrasound examinations while maintaining high standards of patient care, image quality, and clinical accuracy. The role suits someone who works efficiently in a smaller hospital environment and can manage a variety of examinations throughout the workday.

Primary Responsibilities

• Independently perform vascular and general diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Perform additional examinations, including obstetric and breast imaging, as needed and within demonstrated competencies.
• Review patient histories, previous examinations, and physician orders before procedures.
• Obtain accurate images, with appropriate anatomical identification and documentation.
• Recognize abnormal findings and communicate them to the interpreting radiologist, vascular surgeon, or appropriate clinical personnel.
• Prioritize examinations by patient acuity and coordinate inpatient and outpatient imaging schedules.
• Maintain accurate patient records, examination documentation, and procedure logs.
• Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and quality assurance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
• Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
• ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification
• Vascular Technologist experience
