Job Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who takes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and financial and human resources, within the philosophy of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Completes initial patient assessments and develops care plans with providers, patients, and families.
• Implements and modifies plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous assessment.
• Performs ED nursing procedures and theories specific to the area of practice.
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date patient documentation.
• Takes responsibility for patient and staff safety by correcting and reporting hazards and incidents.
• Communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families, and provides peer feedback for professional development.
• Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Illinois state RN License in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• PALS certification (American Heart Association).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
