Location: Peoria, Illinois Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Role Overview
The staff Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The nurse delivers care using the nursing process and works within the institution's philosophy.
Essential Functions
- Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops plans of care based on patient and family needs
- Implements and modifies plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation of nursing care
- Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards and incidents
- Communicates with the healthcare team, offers feedback to peers, and fulfills departmental competency requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of neurology nursing experience
- Neurology experience within the last year
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Valid Illinois RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
