Rad Tech 2 - Cardiovascular Invasive
Location: Peoria, Illinois Employment Type: Clinical-Allied Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 6:30 AM - 5 PM Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Role Overview
- Assist cardiologists with invasive, diagnostic, interventional cardiac/vascular, and electrophysiology (EP) procedures.
- Perform technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
- Set up and operate electrical and imaging equipment, including monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
- Set up sterile fields and procedural supplies, and pass sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices using aseptic technique.
- Provide care to coronary invasive patients in the Cath Lab, including sedation support and recognition of complications.
- Interpret EKGs and alert physicians to irregular activity.
- Manage the digital archiving system, including storing and querying patient images and creating CDs for transmission.
- Collaborate with the Research RN/Coordinator on laboratory-based research, and train and mentor team members.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field, or a certificate of completion from a radiology program
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- ARRT Registration in Radiology
- Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience (minimum of three (3) years)
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Knowledge of EP concepts, theory, and the fluoroscopic anatomy and physiology involved in diagnostic and interventional EP procedures
- Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation specific to device implantation and function
