IR RN (Interventional Radiology)

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Target Start: Mid/Late December

Schedule

• 8-hour variable shifts (start times of 0700, 0730, 0745, 0800, or 0830)
• Guaranteed 72 hours bi-weekly
• Weekends are on call only, every 4-6 weekends as needed, with potential holiday call
• One night on call per week, with a 30-minute response time
• Not guaranteed orientation week; 8-hour unbillable orientation
• Billing is Monday through Sunday
• Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Required certifications: WI RN, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS
• Minimum of 3+ years as an RN in IR, Cath Lab, Critical Care, ER, or Recovery
• Sedation experience
• IV skills
• Familiarity with neurointervention, including stroke thrombectomy and embolization
• Candidate must start the medical portion of compliance within 48 hours of an accepted offer, or within 24 hours for a quick start

Preferred Qualifications

• Electronic charting experience

Unit Details

• Department: Interventional Radiology
• Procedural unit with 2 fluoro suites, 2 procedure suites, 1 biplane lab, 1 hybrid lab, and CT
• Wide variety of inpatients and outpatients, from clinic patients to critical care patients, and elective to emergent procedures
• Typical department staffing: 12 RNs, 12 IR technologists, 4 periop techs, 4 IR MDs, 2 Advanced Practice Providers, and 1 Neuro-Interventional locum
• Procedural teams consist of the provider, RN, and 1-2 techs; anesthesia may also be involved in some procedures
• Floating: None. All work is in IR.
