House Supervisor

Role Overview

• Travel/Contract assignment in Gouverneur, New York
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend
• Locals accepted only if they live more than 50 miles away
• First-time travelers are not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• House Supervisor experience (1 year of experience)
• House Supervisor experience within the last year
• Experience in Supervisory roles (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience
• Experience with Epic
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Unit Details

• Average daily census: 19
• 25-bed inpatient unit
• 7-bed ER
• Scattered-bed unit serving swing bed, detox, and medical patients
• Majority of census is subacute patients needing rehab for debility, wound care, and long-term IV antibiotics
• RN ratio on inpatient unit: 1:6 days, 1:7 nights, with LPN support
• RT services are available Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:00 only

Patient Population / Diagnoses

• CHF
• Pneumonia
• Observation rule-out for chest pain
• Syncope
• Diverticulitis
• Cellulitis
• COPD
• ETOH withdrawal
• Opiate withdrawal
• Debility

Additional Notes

• Bariatric equipment is rented when needed
• No formal dress code; scrubs required
