Acute Leukemia and Hematology RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
• Unit: 15E James
• 12-hour day/night only schedule
• Adults and geriatrics
• Primarily cares for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Staffing ratio goal is 1:4, can be 1:5
• Weekends are variable based on unit needs
• First-time travelers are screened to client for review

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Ohio State license verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification
• Unit-specific competency exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Emergency Contact Form
• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting using code 3701.881 within 1 year of start
• Pending background check attestation if fingerprint results are pending
• Education accreditation confirmation from an accredited nursing program
• Employment application
• Skills checklist
• 2 professional references, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Annual ethics and compliance policies acknowledgement
• Annual fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start
• Tdap
• Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series, or signed declination
• MMR immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
• Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask documentation
• Annual flu vaccination or declination during flu season
