RN Postpartum

Location: Wichita, Kansas Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Post Partum experience: 2 years
• Post Partum experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• MOAB Moderate Risk de-escalation training
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid driver's license

Required Clinical Checks and Exams

• Specialty exam: Completed before first assignment, updated every 3 years. Minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.
• EKG exam: Passing score of at least 80%, 2 attempts allowed, updated every 3 years. The agency grades and uploads the exam.
• Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA): Completed within 1 year of start, updated every 3 years. Minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.
• Skills checklist (clinical): Completed within 1 year of start, updated annually. Must be submitted with the application.
• Color vision: Completed before start, updated every 3 years.
• Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules: Required for non-allied positions before clearance, annually.

Required Health and Immunizations

• MMR: Proof of two doses or a positive IgG titer. No declinations accepted. If titer is negative, two doses are required four weeks apart.
• Varicella: Proof of two doses, serological immunity, or verified history of varicella or herpes zoster. If negative, two doses are required four weeks apart. No declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Completed 3-vaccine series or a signed and dated declination.
• Tdap: Valid 10 years from administration date. No declinations or attestations accepted.
• Influenza vaccine: Flu season is October 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Exemptions and declinations are accepted, but the candidate must wear a mask at all times.
• TB screening: Two-step PPD or IGRA. First PPD within 1 year, second PPD within 30 days of start, or a negative IGRA within 90 days of start. TB questionnaire updated annually. If positive, chest X-ray within the last year plus questionnaire.
• Health statement: Statement of good health or physical exam before first assignment, updated annually.
• Fit test: Required annually for all travelers. Preferred before start, can be completed onsite. PAPR fit tests are not done onsite. Certain states require specific 3M respirator models.
• Drug screen: 11-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to first assignment, updated annually.

Required Administrative Documents

• Submission documents: Resume or profile and 2 professional references, completed before first assignment.
• Background check: Includes SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender, 7-year county search, National Criminal, OFAC, and VSOP, completed within 90 days of first assignment and updated yearly.
• EPLS: Run within 90 days of start.
• Education verification: Completed within 90 days of start. Diplomas are not accepted.
• Employment verification: Third-party verification for the past 7 years, updated yearly.
• Confirmation of assignment: Provided on agency letterhead at initial assignment and each extension.
• Driver's license or state ID: Must not be expired, must match address on file, and must show front and back.
• Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot on a white or blue background, no alterations or filters.

Onboarding

• Pre-hire education: 6 hours of pre-hire modules, with the attestation uploaded by the agency.
• Contract worker onboarding: Completed onsite.

Optional

• Unit-specific checklist: Optional for onboarding, but must be uploaded by the unit leader within 1 week.
• Legal name change document: Optional if applicable.
• Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire: Optional alternative documentation.
