Float Scope and Units

• Must float between all three facilities for any of these levels of care: Tele, Med Surg, ED, or Inpatient Hold.
• Listed unit counts: 1 Tele and 1 ED Inpatient Hold at the Fresno location, and 1 Tele and 1 ED Inpatient Hold at Clovis.
• Schedule is given the day of, for the facility and level of care.
• Orientation: 4 shifts total.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license to work within the state of California.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 2 years of float experience.
• Float experience within the last year.
• Resource nursing experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Required Onboarding Credentials

• Health and immunizations: Proof of 2 MMR immunizations (or positive IgG titer or declination); proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccinations (or positive antibody titer or declination); influenza vaccine, required October through March unless CDPH indicates otherwise (medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation); proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations (or positive IgG titer or declination); Tdap within the past 10 years (or declination).
• TB test: Negative result (skin test, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 30 days of start, updated annually. A positive result requires proof of positive history, a chest X-ray within the last 5 years, and an annual TB questionnaire.
• Health statement: Signed and dated within 1 year of start, stating the traveler can work without restrictions, updated annually.
• Identification: Clear copy of a valid driver's license or state ID (passport accepted).
• Background and exclusion checks: Criminal background check within 30 days prior to start (7-year county and national, SSN trace, 5-year employment verification, OFAC, and NSO), with a 40-day allowance if the start is postponed. Manual OIG, EPLS, OFAC, National Sex Offender, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List searches within 30 days of start, updated as required.
• Drug screen: 9-panel minus THC, within 30 days of start, updated annually (rapid screen accepted; 40-day allowance if start is postponed).
• Agency attestation: Any known Do Not Rehire/Send record from the prior 3 years, attested on agency letterhead.
• Paperwork: Confirmation of assignment/job description, signed policy packet acknowledgement, signed dispute resolution agreement, badge photo, ROI for MyChart, and confidentiality of receipt, each initialed or signed as directed.

• Resume or profile.
• 2 professional references, at least 1 supervisory.
• Clinical skills checklist, completed within 1 year of start.

Optional

• COVID-19 vaccine documentation (proof of vaccine and 1 booster, or exemption).
• Fit test, completed onsite on the start date.
• HLC testing, completed by the Friday before start.
