Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Overview

• Employment type: Travel
• Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin
• Unit: 5 Med unit, 53 beds
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Orientation date: 12/15
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week (not guaranteed the week of orientation; guaranteed set hours except during holidays when the unit is closed)

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, attached at submittal
• Wisconsin or Compact nursing license, attached at submittal
• Prior travel experience required: at least 1 completed traveler contract
• 3-5 years of Medical-Surgical experience, in a short-term acute care hospital
• Ability to read telemetry
• Experience with insulin and cardiac drips
• Charting (EMR) experience within the last 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccine, unless a medical or religious exemption applies
• Required competencies completed before starting

Float and Assignment Scope

• May float to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Mukwonago, and other like units as needed, based on census
• Will not be asked to work outside clinical skills unless approved by the employee, unit manager, and shift advisor
