Physical Therapist (PT) - Per Diem

Location: Jacksonville, Texas
Employment Type: Per Diem
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Expected Hours: 8-16 hours per shift (not guaranteed), primarily Saturdays and Sundays
Patient Care Setting: Inpatient and swing bed care, 1-2 days per week

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing physical therapy care for assigned patients. This role requires adherence to all standards of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to the designated patient population.

Responsibilities

• Gather pertinent data from patient charts and other caregivers; communicate with physicians as necessary
• Independently assess all patient types as assigned
• Recognize additional patient needs during evaluation and exercise good judgment in decision-making regarding additional testing
• Interpret results and formulate relevant, measurable, realistic, and attainable goals
• Reassess patient progress regularly according to department and regulatory policies or as needed
• Identify appropriate equipment, discuss with patient and family, and make recommendations

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
• Professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not specified as required
• Work involves inpatient and swing bed care, 1-2 days per week
• Per diem as needed schedule
