Registered Nurse PCU

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Unit: PCU

Schedule

• Shifts: Night (3x12 hours, 19:00 to 7:30) or Day (3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:30)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Rotation: 4x12-hour rotating days and nights, every other weekend (3x12 accepted)

Staffing and Patient Ratios

• 4:1 to 5:1, up to 6:1

Experience

• 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers welcome
• Not open to local candidates living within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience of 1 year, obtained within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Driver's License

Pre-Start Training

• Required for RNs (must score 100% on the quiz to be accepted): Assessment of Patient Policy, Interdisciplinary Plans of Care, Skin Integrity Training, Mobility Training, and Catheter Training
• Required before start: orientation checklist, code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, disclosure statement, exclusion information form, pandemic attestation, and a facility-specific competency review
• Professional headshot for the badge (JPEG, solid light background, no filters, no sunglasses or hats)

Other Information

• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) workplace violence training is completed onsite through modules during orientation for ER and Behavioral Health units; candidates cannot submit a certificate for it.
• Religious and medical COVID exemptions are available. Religious exemptions require a signed formal letter from the religious official; medical exemptions require physician signature.
