Registered Nurse CVOR (Travel/Contract)

Overview

• Location: Melbourne, Florida
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Hours: 40 per week

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4x10)
• Weekend call, holiday, and hurricane coverage required; day off to be determined
• Weekends: every other weekend, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, based on unit needs
• On-call required
• Block schedule accommodated only if unit needs allow and the manager approves before the offer
• Contracted hours guaranteed

Clinical Focus

• Unit: CVOR
• Ratio: 1:1
• Procedures: Percutaneous coronary angioplasty, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), pacemaker placement, heart valve replacement, peripheral vascular bypass, AV fistula creation/revision/removal, lobectomy, ventricular shunt insertion/replacement/removal
• Float: Yes

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• CVOR experience (1 year)
• CVOR experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience with Epic

Additional Certifications

• PALS, NRP, TNCC, and NIH Stroke certifications may be required depending on the unit description; confirm with the agency

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering the past 7 years, updated annually; international searches required
• Includes SSN trace, county, state, and nationwide criminal searches, sex offender registry, education verification, and HHS/OIG and EPLS/GSA/SAM checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM within 90 days of start; HHS/OIG run monthly)
• Florida state fingerprint clearance required before start; results must be dated within 30 days of start and resubmitted every 5 years; travelers cannot start with fingerprints pending
• Education must come from an accredited program; candidates from institutions on the facility exclusion list are not accepted

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months before start
• TB: QuantiFERON (QGold) within 3 months of start with reference ranges, or two negative PPDs (one within 12 months and one within 3 months of start); T-spot not accepted; TB questionnaire required annually
• Titers within 5 years of start for rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella; quantitative titers with numerical values required (immunization records not accepted); low titers require a booster or a signed facility declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, including marijuana; instant tests accepted only if collected as a witnessed urine specimen
• Fit test within 12 months before start using specified masks (Halyard small/regular, 3M 1860 small/regular, or 3M 1870 Aura); candidate must be fully shaven; PAPR not an option; may be completed onsite

Logistics

• Scrubs: any solid color; provide your own or wear facility-provided scrubs
• Badge photo: passport-style JPG with a solid white background, facing the camera, no filters
• Facility documents required for all candidates: job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, and badge form
• Immunization declination form with low titer documentation, if applicable
