Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Melbourne, Florida Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:00), 36 hours per week Ratio: 1:5

Schedule and Assignment

• Weekends: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, set by unit needs
• Weekend, holiday, and hurricane coverage may be required
• On-call: No
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Contracted hours are guaranteed
• Traveler has a home base unit but may float to other units or other facilities in the health system

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Preferred / Other Certifications Listed for Specific Units

• PALS, NRP, TNCC, and EFM may apply depending on unit requirements
• EFM is required only for Labor and Delivery candidates

Background, Health, and Onboarding Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering the past 7 years, updated annually, with international searches required (includes Social Security trace, county, state, nationwide, sex offender, and education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 90 days of start
• Education verification; the facility does not accept candidates from certain listed institutions
• Physical exam within 6 months before start
• TB: QuantiFERON Gold within 3 months of start (reference ranges required), or two negative PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months); T-spot not accepted; annual TB questionnaire
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella titers within 5 years of start (quantitative titers with lab slips; immunization records not accepted; low titers require a booster or signed declination)
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, including marijuana (instant screens only if witnessed urine collection)
• Fit test within 12 months of start; can be completed onsite. Accepted masks: Halyard small/regular, 3M 1860 small/regular, or 3M 1870 Aura. Candidate must be fully shaven; PAPR not accepted
• Current application or resume dated within 90 days of start
• Two professional references related to employment within the last 12 months
• Passport-style photo for badge (JPG, solid white background)
• Facility documents: job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, iCARE values, and badge form

Flu Vaccine Exemptions

• Exemption forms must be submitted to the facility by the Monday before start, or the candidate will be pushed
• Religious exemptions require a specific personal or religious belief statement; the facility is strict about this
• Medical exemptions must be signed by a physician

• Livescan fingerprinting may be done at any FieldPrint location in the country; clearance can take about 10 days
