Role Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse, Cath Lab
- Facility type: Acute hospital
- Designations: Magnet facility, Level II trauma center
- Total staffed beds: 407
- Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 to 17:00), 40 hours per week
- Guaranteed hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks. The traveler can be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks.
- Weekend requirements: On call, plus approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of the 4 scheduled shifts per week
- On-call requirements: 1 day per week and the 4th/5th weekend (Friday 18:00 to Monday 07:30)
- Float scope: May float within scope to EP or IR to meet facility needs
- Block schedule: Not accepted
- Scrub color: Provided
- Charting: Electronic medical record (EMR)
- Parking: Free
Requirements
- Valid RN license in Alaska. A pending Alaska license is accepted, but the license must be in hand for an automatic offer.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience, minimum 2 years, with at least 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Skills requirements per the unit description (UD)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, with AHA certification available as Instructor, Provider, or RQI
- Experience with Epic
- Permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility. Local candidates are not accepted.

- EP (electrophysiology) experience
Other Details
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Time off is approved individually upon offer. Only 1 time-off request is allowed per 13-week assignment.
Onboarding Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, plus Alaska DHSS fingerprint results
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by an MD, NP, PA, or DO
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- TB screening (IGRA/TSPOT, QuantiFERON Gold, or 2 PPDs) within 12 months of start
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years, or a declination
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) documentation, Hepatitis B documentation (Alaska requires the vaccine series), and varicella documentation, or the applicable declinations
- Flu and COVID vaccination documentation or declinations
- Fit mask testing and RespSafety clearance
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years, and 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
- Float policy acknowledgement
- Annual regulatory modules (about 3.5 hours)
