ER RN (Travel Contract)

Overview

• Location: Redlands, California
• Unit: ER (Emergency Department), fast-paced
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 12/01
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 07:30)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week

Scheduling

• Single set of RTO (required time off) up to 7 consecutive days will be considered.
• No holiday RTO.
• Minimum weekend coverage is every other weekend.
• Orientation: 24 hours.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience working with adult patients
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIHSS
• Experience with central line management
• IV insertion skills
• Continuous IV sedation
• IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with ventilator management
• Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias

Candidate Restrictions

• Does not accept new grads.
• Does not accept first-time travelers.
• Does not accept travelers with a history of cancellations.
• Does not accept candidates with pediatric-only experience.
• Does not accept locals living within 50 miles.

Support Services

• Interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary.
• Provider coverage includes intensivist, NP, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist.
