Adult General Medical/Tele RN PM Shift

Location: Long Beach, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Specialty: Registered Nurse

Schedule and Assignment

• Shift: Night, 4x12 hour shifts (19:00 to 07:30), 48 hours per week
• Floating: Required to float to Med/Surg and ED holding
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Scheduling: Self-scheduled
• Time off: Pre-approved time off is at the manager's discretion and must be included at the time of submission
• Local candidates: Candidates within 50 miles of the facility should be identified at submission

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS

Background, Health, and Compliance

• Background check: Standard background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including 7-year county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
• Exclusion checks: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG required
• Government-issued photo ID: Required
• Emergency contact form: Required
• Badge photo: Not required for this location
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, not required annually
• N95 fit mask: Within 1 year of start, renewed annually (onsite fit testing not offered; any N95 accepted)
• TB screening: Negative QuantiFERON, T-SPOT, or 2-step PPD within 1 year of start, updated annually (renewals accept QuantiFERON, T-SPOT, or 1 PPD); positive responders need a chest X-ray within 1 year of start and an annual TB questionnaire
• TB questionnaire: Required for all candidates, updated annually
• Tdap: Within the last 10 years (may decline)
• Measles, mumps, rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; low or equivocal titer requires 1 booster after titer (declination accepted in some cases)
• Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer required (declination accepted for low or equivocal titer)
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines 28 days apart (declination accepted for low or equivocal titer)
• Drug screen: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant screen accepted); must not include a marijuana panel
• California marijuana testing restriction: Urine marijuana/THC testing is prohibited. If saliva THC testing is required by the client, both urine and saliva screens are required.
• Flu vaccine: Required November 1 to April 30 (may decline; masking required for unvaccinated staff during flu season)
• COVID vaccination record: Preferred

Onboarding and Training

• Facility training modules: Required, approximately 8 hours; complete from home on the Monday of start week and before the first in-person day on Tuesday
• HIPAA education module: Required for all candidates, including per diem; complete before the facility training modules
• Facility policy reviews: Drug and alcohol-free policy, hand hygiene policy, dress and appearance policy, discharge optimization, and care briefing (review only, nothing to submit)
