Registered Nurse: Cardiac Tele

• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start/Shift: 4 x 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 48 hours per week. The job's shift field lists 7:00 to 19:30.
• Schedule details: Float required to MedSurg/ED hold. Weekend coverage every other weekend, with the number of weekend shifts as needed.
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Communication: SBAR
• Scrubs: Navy blue or solid color
• Unit accepts first-time travelers: Yes

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Pre/Post cardiac catheterization care, including experience working with post cardiac cath patients
• Experience working with Cardiac Surgery patients
• Experience with pacemakers (temporary/permanent)
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) care
• IV insulin protocols
• Experience with feeding tubes
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management
• Accessing/managing ports
• Experience with Epic

Facility Training

• HIPAA module required for all candidates, including per diem, completed before the facility electronic health record modules
• Facility electronic health record modules take about 8 hours. Complete them from home on Monday of start, with the deadline set for the first in-person day on Tuesday.
• Prior certificates may be accepted for returning travelers if dated within 12 months of start.
• Review-only policies: drug and alcohol-free policy, hand hygiene policy (required only at certain locations), dress and appearance policy, discharge optimization, and care briefing
