Cardiovascular Surgical Tech

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
• Shift: 8-hour variable shifts
• Primary location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 2 years of experience
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• CST or NBSTSA or NCCT
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with Cardiothoracic patients
• Experience with cardiac/thoracic surgery
• Experience with thoracic robot

Preferred

• Thoracic robot experience

Schedule / Call

• May be required to float to all Central Aspirus locations if needed
• On call: 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week
• 30-minute response time for call
• May occasionally require additional mandated call
• Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend
• Holiday rotation

Unit / Work Setting

• Cardiothoracic surgical setting
• Approximately 50–60 cases per month
• 3 cardiothoracic surgeons

Skills / Responsibilities

• Set up operative suites
• Review case carts to ensure supplies are available
• Scrub surgical cases in a variety of specialties
• Turn over rooms for multiple procedures throughout the day
• May need to help with downtime tasks such as pulling case carts and cleaning

Additional Notes

• Scrub colors: any color
• Travelers may be placed on call for low census hours
• Call-back minimum is 2 hours
• Flu season policy may require masking if flu and COVID vaccination is declined
