Registered Nurse – ER

Overview

• Location: Redlands, California
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: 12/01 (candidate must be pre-cleared at submission)
• Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Time off: One set of RTO up to 7 consecutive days will be considered. No holiday RTO.
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend coverage: Minimum of every other weekend

Role Description

• Fast-paced ER.
• Provider coverage: Intensivist, NP, Hospitalist, and Anesthesiologist.
• Support services: Interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience working with adult patients
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), AB508 compliant
• NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS), completed through an approved vendor and renewed annually
• Experience with central line care and management
• Experience with continuous IV sedation
• Experience with IV vasopressors
• Experience with ventilator management (ventilated patients)
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with interpretation/management of dysrhythmias

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background and screening: Background check and EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, all completed within 30 days of start. Background check updated annually.
• Licensure: State license primary source verification and Nursys verification within 30 days of contract start.
• Drug screen: 10-panel drug screen including THC, within 30 days of start.
• TB: 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-Spot within 90 days of start, updated annually. Past positives require documentation, a TB questionnaire, and a chest X-ray.
• Immunizations and titers: Rubeola, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B titers, or vaccines, within 90 days of start. Tdap within 10 years. COVID vaccines plus booster, or an approved exemption. Flu vaccine or declination due by 10/31. Decliners must wear a mask.
• Health: Physician physical exam statement within 12 months. Fit test for N95 respirators. In-office Ishihara color blind exam for clinical positions.
• Competencies: Medication/pharmacology competency exam and specialty competency exam.
• History: Two professional references within 3 years, resume, work history verification of most recent employer, and annual skills checklist.
• Identification: Unexpired government-issued photo ID (front only). Passport accepted in lieu of driver's license. E-Verify required.
• Other: Badge photo meeting facility guidelines, orientation safety manual acknowledgement, and facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., code of conduct, confidentiality, abuse reporting, drug-free workplace, employee handbook).
