RN CVICU-Peds – Critical Care Float Traveler
Location: Austin, Texas Unit: Critical Care Float Pool Employment type: LTA (long-term assignment) Contract length: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 – 07:15
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans, and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas, with primary source verification completed within 30 days before the start of the assignment, including Nursys verification.
- Critical Care Float experience (2 years of experience)
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- NIHSS
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- PALS
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's license or state ID that is not expired and matches the address on file. Must show front and back.
- PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) experience
- CVICU experience
- NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience
Optional Items
- Unit-specific checklist, which the Ascension unit leader must upload within one week of onboarding.
- Legal name change document, if applicable.
- Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire, if applicable.
