PICU Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location: Tucson, Arizona Contract Length: 13 weeks (full contract length required) Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:30) Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week

Role Overview

Floating to Peds is included in this assignment.
Ideally, Peds/PICU traveler positions would be filled by candidates who can also float to the NICU as needed. If that is not possible, PICU night shift coverage is the priority.
Every other weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) is required.
Ratio: 1:2
Average daily census: 8 to 10
Local candidates are not accepted.
Do not submit to multiple positions.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Arizona
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with ventilator management
Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula
Experience with Epic

Testing

Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation for RN candidates assigned to certain units (Emergency Room, CVICU, PCU, Tele, MS/Tele, and Labor and Delivery). A passing score is 80% or higher, and a missed lethal finding is an automatic fail.
