Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Austin, Texas (Per Diem)

Job Overview

• Setting: Inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital (50 beds)
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic injury, cardiac issues, and debility
• Specialty Focus: Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Orthopedic, Cardiac rehabilitation
• Shift: Days
• Hours: PRN (as needed), including weekends PRN
• Treatment Time: Approximately 6.5 hours of patient treatment per day

Requirements

• Specialty: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
• Years of Experience: 2 years (higher end of 1-2 years range)
• Certifications: PTA license, Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Education: Required PTA education
• Skills:

  • Experience with inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) preferred
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
• Float Requirements: None
• Call Requirements: None

• Facility: State-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital focused on comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation
• Patient Care: Customized, individualized rehabilitation programs tailored to patient needs
• Documentation: Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems used include Pinpoint and UDS Pro Doc
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified

Contract Length

• Duration: 52 weeks (1 year)
