RN Operating Room

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 4x10 hours, 6:45a-5:15p, call required (10 hours/day, 40 hours/week)

Role Overview

The RN provides direct patient care on the Operating Room unit. Responsibilities include:

• Performing and documenting comprehensive patient assessments and developing problem lists
• Implementing patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Explaining procedures and treatments to patients and families
• Recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition
• Delegating and overseeing team members' patient care activities
• Facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Participating in unit quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• 1 year of Operating Room experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
