Step-Down RN

Location: Auburn, New York Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (19:00 to 07:30), 48 hours per week Ratio: 1:4-5 Schedule: 48 hours guaranteed, every other weekend and every other holiday, no blocked scheduling Local Candidates: Accepted

Patient Population and Diagnoses

• Congestive heart failure (CHF)
• S/P heart catheterization
• S/P vascular procedures
• Respiratory failure (BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm)
• Cardiac dysrhythmias

Unit Procedures and Expectations

• Post-heart cath care
• TR bands
• Post-vascular procedure monitoring
• Frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks
• Nurses independently measure telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms for all telemetry patients, as the facility does not employ telemetry technicians

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Stepdown (2 years of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Cardiac patients
• Experience working with Neuro patients
• 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Dysrhythmia interpretation
• Dysrhythmia management
• IV start and maintenance
• PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Cardiac drip titration
