Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Step Down (Travel)

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks, with possible extension Start: ASAP Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week) Shift Dates: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as needed

Role Overview

• Med Surg role that frequently floats to Step Down and Med Surg/Telemetry units. Traveler must be comfortable with both.
• Medical-surgical unit with 29 beds, general surgical and orthopedic, with medical overflow.
• Staffing ratios: Step Down 1:4-5, Med Surg 1:5-6.
• Travelers must confirm they are comfortable with frequent floating.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Stepdown experience (2 years of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• IV insertion skills
• Med Surg experience

Additional Details

• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Scrubs are not provided; royal blue or white scrubs are required.
• Clinical references: 2 required (hospital evaluation also accepted).
• A performance evaluation is required if the candidate has completed any prior agency assignment.
• Skills checklist required, updated annually.
• Badge photo required (no hats or sunglasses, good lighting, no filters or photos of photos).
