Registered Nurse (RN), Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (Nights)

Overview

• Location: Rock Island, IL
• Employment type: Temporary
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per day
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Orientation dates: 11/30, 12/14, 12/28
• Local candidates: Local radius rule applies through Dec. 31, 2026
• Eligibility restriction: Past employees, whether FTE or PRN in the float pool, cannot work travel in another market, regardless of their current facility, or within the past 12 months. This does not apply to anyone who previously worked travel assignments (not FTE or PRN).

Schedule and Assignment

• Holiday requirement: Unless the unit is closed, the contractor must work 1 to 2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's).
• Float scope: Must be willing and able to float across campuses when needed or scheduled: Rock Island, Moline, Bettendorf, and Muscatine.
• Leadership: May need to step in as Charge RN or Preceptor.

Unit Information

• Bed size: 48
• Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7 on average
• Patient types: Pre/post CABG, post cardiac cath, pacemakers, TAVRs, Watchman, ablations
• Drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban, some titration
• Specialty equipment: Chest tubes, Femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, central lines

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience of 1.25 years, with experience obtained within the last year
• Experience working with cardiac patients
• Experience with the care and management of invasive lines
• Equipment experience with Femstops and CBIs
• Experience with Epic
• Driver's license
