PCU/Tele RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Dededo, Guam
• 13-week assignment
• 36 hours per week
• Night or day shifts; travelers are scheduled primarily one shift and cannot request a shift preference
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• First-timers not accepted
• Locals not accepted
• Travel partners accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Passport in hand required

Unit / Setting

• Tele unit with PCU level of care
• May also take ICU level of care when needed
• Float scope includes Med-Surg and ED Tele overflow
• If floated to ICU, the traveler will not care for patients outside their scope of practice
• Ratios: 1:4-5
• Acute care facility
• Adult Trauma II
• 132 staffed beds

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience
• Compact or Guam RN licensure in hand at time of submittal
• ACLS
• BCLS
• Must be willing to float as needed
• Current US passport
• Government-issued photo ID
• Emergency contact form
• Background check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM
• HHS/OIG
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Work history verification for the last 10 years
• Application must include at least the last 10 years of employment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit test within 1 year prior to start
• Negative TB screening within 1 year of start
• Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella documentation
• Drug screen within 1 year of start
• NIH Stroke Scale Training
• NDNQI Pressure Injury Training Certificate
• Alaris IV Pumps Certificate
• Pyxis CareFusion Certificate
• Nursing Module Instructions completion
• Vaccine declination forms if requesting exemptions

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience

Scheduling / Assignment Notes

• Overtime is at management discretion and not guaranteed
• Block scheduling accommodation is TBD by unit needs
• Travelers have a four-day window to switch, pick up, or find coverage before the schedule is finalized
• Travelers should be prepared to pick up additional shifts due to census
• RTO must be approved and included in the contract before the start date
• Maximum RTO: 3 consecutive days per two weeks, 7 total days
• Client can cancel 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Additional Notes

• Flights are not reimbursed
• Travelers should not book return flights until the contract is complete
• Candidates should plan to arrive by Thursday before start at the latest
• Parking is free
