Registered Nurse – Tele Float

Location: Apple Valley, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 to 19:30), 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Assignment Details

Position is for ED holding.
High-volume ER.
Opportunity for additional shifts, if wanted.
Float policy acknowledgement required. Traveler may be required to float to another facility within a reasonable distance.

Experience

2 years of experience required. Candidates may be screened if they are strong.
First-time travelers are accepted with 3+ years of experience. Candidates may be screened if they are strong.

Required Qualifications

Valid California RN license.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Float experience: 1 year of experience.
Float experience within the last year.
Experience with Epic EHR.

Background, Health, and Compliance

Background check within 90 days of start, updated annually. Includes education verification for RNs (nursing degree).
Drug screen (9-panel) within 12 months of start. Instant results are acceptable.
Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start, updated annually.
Measles, mumps, and rubella: 2 MMR vaccines (at least 28 days apart) or a positive titer.
Varicella: 2 vaccines or a positive titer.
Hepatitis B: signed declination, or documentation of a positive titer and vaccination.
Tdap within 10 years. Declination accepted.
Flu vaccine required during flu season. Declination accepted.
COVID: vaccination record preferred. Declination not required. Candidates without documentation must follow infection prevention measures for unvaccinated caregivers.
Respirator fit test (any mask type accepted). Must be updated annually.
RespSafety clearance, updated annually (travel candidates).

History and Onboarding

References: minimum of 2 covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, in a comparable specialty or setting.
Employment application covering at least the last 5 years, with explanations for gaps or overlaps.
Skills checklist required for the applicable unit, updated annually.
Annual regulatory training modules (about 3.5 hours), assigned through the facility learning system.
Float policy acknowledgement form.
