Overview

• Location: Dallas, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 07:30)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Scrubs: Not provided (navy blue)

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as needed
• Float required as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas, with verification of licensure required
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 1 year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience required
• 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, completed within the last year
• Experience with Epic
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) accepted at start; must renew with AHA only; AHA Provider, Instructor, and RQI are acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) accepted at start; must renew with AHA only; AHA Provider, Instructor, and RQI are acceptable

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: passing score of 80% or the Angoff score, whichever is higher; two attempts; completed within 30 days of start; not updated annually
• Medication Calculation Exam: passing score of 80%; required for all RNs
• Advanced Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: two attempts; completed within 30 days of start; updated annually

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Tuberculosis: Negative TSpot or QGold (PPD not accepted) within 90 days of start; updated annually
• Tdap: Required
• Measles, mumps, rubella: Positive titers or documentation of 2 MMR vaccines; if a titer is low or equivocal, 2 boosters are required, given at least 28 days apart. The second booster may be pending at start.
• Varicella: Positive titers or documentation of 2 varicella vaccines; same booster rules as MMR
• Hepatitis B: Both vaccine series and a positive titer, or a signed facility declination form
• Physical exam: Within 12 months of start; not required annually
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start; not required annually; rapid drug screens not accepted
• Fit test: Completed onsite during orientation or prior to start; updated annually
• Influenza: Vaccination or facility-approved medical or religious exemption required during flu season (October 1 to March 31); deadline 11/15 for the 2026-27 season; medical exemptions must be signed by a physician

Background and Verification

• Background check within 30 days of start: 7-year county criminal search for all locations lived and worked, and sex offender search. International verification is required only if the candidate worked or attended school internationally during this period.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Photo ID: Driver's license or state ID, or passport copy, required; name must match all documentation
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
• Badge photo required (passport-style, head and shoulders, clear background)

Facility Forms (Complete Before Start)

• Facility job description acknowledgment
• Non-employee internet access form
• Facility NESF form (at least one security question must be answered)
• Hepatitis B declination form, if applicable
• Vaccine mandate exemption forms, if applicable
