• Schedule: Days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Hours: 4/10s, 40 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• CWON certification
• RN license
• 3–4 other RNs in this role on the unit

Preferred Qualifications

• WOCN preferred
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) via NAWCO accepted, but WOCN is highly preferred

Clinical Setting and Patient Population

• Treats a minimum of 5–15 patients per day, depending on the day and new consults
• Common cases include ostomies and/or draining wounds or fistulas, pressure injuries, vascular, arterial, and diabetic ulcerations, skin conditions related to incontinence, surgical procedures, trauma, skin/tissue integrity issues, altered continence, and wound vacs

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates wound care in consults and recommendations
• Provides documentation and billing support
• Handles discharge planning for supplies
• Supports identification, assessment, prevention, and continuing education
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
• Provides a phone for photo documentation

Float / Coverage

• May float to other facilities, sometimes with advance notice
• Covers inpatient wound care for St Clare, St Elizabeth, St Frances, St Anthony, and St Anne

Additional Notes

• No previous travel experience required
• Orientation includes all hospitals, with a preceptor and documentation education
• Smith and Nephew wound vacs are used
