Oncology Float to MedSurg/Tele RN

Location: Carmichael, California Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Unit: Oncology float to MedSurg/Tele
• Beds: 30
• Ratio: 1:5
• Common Diagnoses: Cancer-related diagnoses and general MedSurg/Tele overflow
• Charge Nurse: Yes
• Nurse Aides: Yes
• Hospitalist or Intensivist In-House: Yes
• IV Team: Yes
• Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
• Pharmacy: 24/7
• Ventilator Patients: No
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• Float Scope: Must float to Tele and Med/Surg, so Tele skills are required. The traveler is first to float.

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Active BLS certification
• Active ACLS certification
• Active NIHSS certification
• 2 years of experience
• Tele skills
• Comfort caring for patients with cancer diagnoses
• Two supervisor references: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years worked
• Driver's license or government-issued ID that matches the name on the Pulse profile, with no middle initial or middle name
• Pass/fail exam completed within 24 to 48 hours of accepting the contract, before signing. Candidates get 2 attempts (Test A first, Test B for the retake) and must provide a screenshot showing the number of attempts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology certification (not required)

Holiday Policy

• Travelers work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
• Holiday time off is considered but not guaranteed. Managers make the final scheduling decision.

Additional Notes

• Travelers who fail the second exam attempt will be marked do-not-use for the organization and its sister facilities.
